Grants and subsidies awarded by the Arts Council of Häme

The Ministry of Education determines the allocation of the funds provided by the Finnish lottery company, Veikkaus, and other lottery funds, from its budget for the promotion of the arts. This includes appropriations made to regional arts councils, which distribute working and project grants to arts practitioners and state subsidies to collective bodies.

The Arts Council of Häme distributes approximately EUR 190,000 on an annual basis, the sum depending on the state budget. Grants can be awarded to individual artists and groups of artists domiciled in the regions of Kanta-Häme and Päijät-Häme as well as to arts and culture associations operating in these regions, for their artistic work, arts and culture projects, study trips and other arts promotion activities. The purpose of these grants is to support future activities, not projects already accomplished. Grants for 2010
