Arts Council of Häme

The Arts Council of Häme promotes art and culture in the regions of Kanta-Häme and Päijät-Häme. We cooperate with artists and other cultural players on a regional, national and international basis.

The Arts Council has nine members, all experts in their respective fields of art and regional culture. These members are appointed for a three-year term by the Ministry of Education, based on suggestions by regional arts and cultural organisations. The Arts Council has a permanent General Secretary and a Department Secretary. Furthermore, the Council appoints regional artists for a fixed term.

The Arts Council has an extensive network of partners, including regional councils, the Finnish Environment Institute, arts sector educational institutions, municipalities, artists' associations and other arts and culture organisations, as well as private individuals, especially professional artists.
